COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is designed for individuals who are interested in obtaining in obtaining the API 570 certification or who want to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of piping systems.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
- Inspection personnel who are responsible for conducting piping inspections and evaluations.
- Engineers who are involved in the design, construction, repair, alteration, and maintenance of piping.
- Managers and supervisors who oversee the operation and maintenance of piping.
- Regulators who are responsible for enforcing compliance with piping regulations and standards.
- Anyone who is interested in learning more about piping systems and the API 653 standard.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
The course provides participants with the necessary knowledge to successfully pass the API 570 – Piping Inspector certification exam .
- Comprehensive coverage of the API 570 ”Body of Knowledge,” including ASME welding requirements for piping as outlined in Sections IX and B31.3 VIII
- Review of piping design per ASME B31.3, addressing weld sizes, pipe branch reinforcement, brittle fracture, weld efficiency , and post-weld heat treatment
- Assessment of corrosion, determining minimum thickness, and calculating remaining life
- Principles and applications of ASME Non-destructive testing as specified in Section V.
- Practices for piping inspection, repair and re-rating in line with API 570, covering inspection intervals, requirements, and connections to ASME codes
- Analysis of inspection and degradation mechanisms, including corrosion, cracking, erosion, common corrosive agents, hydrogen and H2S damage, and alloy degradation
- Prepare for the API 570 – Piping Inspector Certification exam by reviewing sample questions , practicing with a practice test , and discussing exam topics and strategies .
